Founded in 2003 in Rochester, NY as a focused industrial automation parts supplier. The companies president and founder identified the need for supporting ABB systems beyond their intended lifetime. Creating the foundation for Classic Automations future in extended support of obsolete systems.
Classic Automation expands its coverage of test systems and parts knowledge, by adding Siemens Simatic S5 to their ever growing knowledge base.
Recognizing the need for more lines to be supported as they aged and to include newer lines, Classic Automation adds Siemens Simatic S7 to their series of in-house test systems
Classic Automation opened its doors in Rochester, NY, establishing a new facility on Monroe Avenue. The 12,000 sq. ft. space had a charming quirk — it consistently smelled of popcorn, courtesy of the shop below, which built and repaired theatre euipment and supplies.
Ahead of the curve in industrial B2B, Classic Automation launches live pricing on the website along with a self-serve quote builder, letting customers search parts and print a quote without a sales call. This Marked their very first ecommerce expansion. With growing demand and a staff eager to build knowledge, they begin supporting Bailey Infi 90.
Classic Automation has been named a Rochester Top 100 Company fives times, recognized for its contribution to the region's economic growth as one of Greater Rochester's fastest-growing privately held companies.
In 2012, Classic Automation acquired 41,000 sq. ft. of space in the Xerox Industrial Park, relocating its parts inventory and legacy test systems into the new facility in 2013. The move was made with a clear vision: to grow the depth and breadth of its supported systems, test systems and stocked parts.
Classic Automation expanded its facility by an additional 12,000 sq. ft., bringing its total footprint to 53,000 sq. ft. The added space allowed the company to further grow its inventory and broaden its support across a wider range of product lines.
Classic Automation launches it first version of a slim 1/2 DIN process panel controller with pre-defined displays, alarms, and trends. A drop-in migration solution for the Siemens Moore 352/353 and ABB Micro MOD 30ML.
After two decades of service, Classic Automation set its sights on growth. They expanding into new product lines and developing proprietary test systems to better support its customer base. A dedicated department and development area were established to drive this next chapter forward.

Our warehouse has grown significantly to accommodate the depth of inventory our customers depend on. With thousands of square feet of organized storage, we have the physical space to stock new, used, surplus, and hard-to-find parts across every major manufacturer.
We're continuously building out our test fixture library. Recent additions include fixtures for Mitsubishi, Siemens, Honeywell, and Omron platforms, letting us validate repairs under real operating conditions rather than relying on visual inspection alone.
We don't outsource. Every repair is performed by our own technicians, in our own facility, on our own test benches. That means consistent quality, direct accountability, and a 2-year warranty we can stand behind.

Refurbishing and repairing PLCs, drives, and control systems keeps valuable industrial assets in service for years — even decades — longer. This reduces the demand for new manufacturing, cutting the resource consumption and emissions tied to producing replacement equipment.
The world produces tens of millions of tonnes of e-waste annually — and industrial electronics are a significant contributor. Our repair-first model keeps automation hardware out of landfills by restoring components to full working condition. Every unit we repair is one that doesn't enter the waste stream.
